For the 345th consecutive day, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has persistently confronted Israeli forces across multiple fronts in the Gaza Strip. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the death of hundreds of Israeli soldiers and officers, while tens of thousands have been injured. Hundreds of Israeli military vehicles have also been destroyed, either fully or partially, according to Qassam Brigades’ reports.
On Saturday, 12th Rabi’ al-Awwal 1446 AH (September 15, 2024), the Qassam Brigades’ military media released a series of statements detailing the mujahideen’s defense efforts against Israeli incursions. These included fierce clashes with Israeli forces, using explosive devices, anti-armor missiles, and various weapons targeting both enemy soldiers and vehicles.
In a related statement, the military spokesperson for the Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, praised a significant operation carried out earlier that day by Yemeni armed forces near Tel Aviv. He described this as a “qualitative leap” that would impact the ongoing battle, referred to as the “Al-Aqsa Flood.”
“The Zionist entity, already entangled in the conflict in Gaza, failed to intercept even a single rocket today. Should the war escalate on new fronts, it will face thousands of missiles and many surprises,” Abu Obeida said in a brief Telegram post on Sunday evening.
He went on to commend the Yemeni people for their solidarity with the Palestinian cause and their willingness to make sacrifices in support of their brothers in Gaza.
The Al-Aqsa Flood battle began on October 7, 2023, with coordinated raids by Palestinian forces into Israeli military sites around the Gaza border. The initial assault resulted in the death and capture of hundreds of Israeli soldiers.
Throughout Saturday, the Qassam Brigades highlighted several key moments in their ongoing resistance:
- 10:25 AM: In a complex operation, Qassam fighters targeted a D9 military bulldozer with a Yassin 105 missile. As Israeli rescue forces arrived, they were also hit by a second Yassin 105 missile, killing and injuring several soldiers near the Ebad Al-Rahman Mosque in the Al-Geneina neighborhood, east of Rafah.
- 11:06 PM: In the northern West Bank, Qassam fighters in Nablus engaged Israeli forces with machine guns during an incursion into the Zaghloul neighborhood of Balata refugee camp.
As the battle continues, the Qassam Brigades remain resolute in their defense against Israeli military operations in both Gaza and the West Bank.
